Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

IC 1611

This is a faint diffuse nebulae measuring about 40" diameter. It has an irregular shape, with a pair of 13th stars on the northwestern side. There is also a 15th magnitude star on the southern edge. No other stars are resolved about the nebulae. IC 1611 appeared to have an even surface brightness. The UHC and OIII filter's responded well to the nebulae, increasing the contrast of the nebulae. Without the filter the nebulae had an indistinct edge, but the filter showed the nebulae's boundries clearly.
