Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

IC 1612

IC 1612 is an open cluster that appears as a 1' diameter round haze found about 2' south of IC 1611. The cluster appears partially resolved into stars of 14th to 15th magnitude. There was no central brightening though. The UHC filter gave a slight response but the resolved stars were lost. I was able to see the cluster with the 12" aperture mask with direct vision.
