Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

IC 1626

Andrew Murrell

This is a 2' cluster that appears to be partially resolved. The resolved stars are on the western side of the cluster. It has a low surface brightness with no central condensation. The OIII filter does no change the view of the object. There appears to be 2 12th magnitude stars located 5' west of the cluster. IC 1626 was still easily visible with the 14" apature mask.

Max Gardner

Observing with an 18" f4.5 NGT. The cluster appeared as a very faint haze, almost invisible. The cluster was slightly elongated and unresolved.
