Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

Is a small open cluster with a small bright nucleus and a slight elongation east west. It has a diameter of about 1' and, is partially resolve through Hector. A star of 15th magnitude is positioned on the north western edge of the cluster. The halo of the cluster has a low surface brightness, but is still well defined from the background sky. The OIII filter did not reveal any nebulae at all.

Observed with an 18" f4.5 NGT. The cluster appeared as an oval shaped unresolved haze with a diameter of 2'.
