Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

Lindsay 56

Lindsay 56 is an oval shaped open cluster that has an even surface brightness. The cluster shows no resolution at any magnification. It is about 30" across and is located about 12' north-west of NGC 346 The variable star HD1744 is 1' south-west of the clusters edge. The edge of the cluster is well defined against the sky background. Using the UHC filetr revealed no nebulosity associated with the cluster.
