Observations of The Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC)

NGC 361

Andrew Murrell

Is a globular cluster with a diameter of 5'. It has a bright concentrated nucleus, but shows no resolution. The cluster has an ill-defined edge, which makes judging the cluster's size difficult. The cluster did appear to be well detached from the background sky though. A 13th magnitude star was positioned just north west of the cluster's nucleus. There were no other stars about the face of the globular. A 9th magnitude star is located just north of the cluster.

Timo Karhula

Observed with a 44.5cm telescope. Described as faint and pretty large.
