Kron 61 is a 1.5' diameter open cluster that appears to be partially resolved. The brightest stars seem to be about 15.5 magnitude. The cluster has a distinctly triangular shape, and has no central condensation. It's low surface brightness makes the cluster difficult to define against the background. A 12.5 magnitude star is located 4' north of the cluster, and is only 10' north of IC 1644.
